这是一部描写医疗战线上市井人物故事的电视连续剧。主人公刘凯是留美多年的博士，他携带美貌、干练个性的妻子杨芊红回国发展，担任某医院急症室主任。在这里他结识了工作严谨，善解人意的女医生华珊；我行我素，颇具魅力的吴大明；医术精湛，不苟言笑的徐铁梨；刻板的唠叨护士长方虹华和裘默默等。二十六集的故事，是围绕他们在抢救过程中，遇到不同层次，不同个性的典型人物，揭示出忠诚、背叛、信任、欺骗、悔悟、伤害、危机、猜疑等等的现代人心灵焦虑、躁动的情感主题。这部电视剧每集故事独立，是国内首部以医院急症室为背景的电视连续剧，将以其独辟蹊径的视点，充满视觉想象力和故事悬念的构思，跌宕起伏的节奏，向广大观众展示有中国特色的全景室急症室人生。。《周一清晨》原名为《切尔西综合医院》（Chelsea General），根据神经外科医生、CNN首席医学记者桑贾伊·古普塔（Sanjay Gupta）尚未出版的小说改编。 这家医院医院是世界上多位顶级外科医生的家。以反传统的救人方式而闻名的外科主任Harding（阿尔弗雷德·莫里纳 Alfred Molina 饰）；曾是退役的职业橄榄球运动员，而现在是全美国最有名的创伤专家Jorge（文·瑞姆斯 Ving Rhames 饰）；享有声誉的神经外科医生Tyler（吉米·巴姆博 Jamie Bamber 饰）；与Tyler关系暧昧的神经外科医生Tina Ridgeway（詹妮佛·芬尼甘 Jennifer Finnigan 饰）。每周一早晨医生们会举办“发病率、治愈率、死亡率与错误率”研讨会——“311会议”。在这个带有传奇色彩的会议上，Harding负责召集每周一早晨的研讨会，赞扬那些工作优秀的医生，批评那些错误频频的医生。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
