本片为张彻导演，并与倪匡合编，由姜大卫及傅声主演，傅声更藉此获1974年亚洲影展最有希望青年男演员奖。片中，姜饰演怀才不遇的油漆小工，因不满现实，养成狂放自傲的性格；傅饰厌倦拘束的富家子，当他遇上姜后，即被姜洒脱的生活方式吸引，二人终成莫逆之交；姜之女友李丽丽，欠了高利贷，被威逼当娼，傅暗向父索巨款……。讲述了藏在大都会图书馆背后，以其作为掩饰的一个远古组织，多年以来组织的成员以守正辟邪为己任。他们破解未解之谜，与超自然邪恶力量搏斗，同时也会寻回失落已久的远古神器。。A troupe of struggling stage actors is rehearsing for a small-town production of a play. Everything seems to be as it should until one of the cast members turns up dead. In a panic, the others try to get out, only to find they are now locked in the theater with the killer! Which one of them committed the murder, and who will get out alive?。
