Dorota Kędzierzawska's film tells the story of three homeless Russian boys who travel to Poland for a better life, with the hope that l ife is different and better somewhere else. The boys wanted to change something in their life.。The story takes us back to 1889, in the wake of primary school teacher Louise Violet who is sent to a village in the French countryside to enforce Republic schooling (which is free, compulsory and secular). It’s a mission which secures her unpopularity, among children and parents alike…。
