影片发生在孟买的一位野生动物摄影家Ray Acharya（尼尔·尼汀·穆科什 饰）身上，某天，他被告知他的外祖父逝世并留给他了一些遗物，他发现这些遗物中有一个能拍摄到未来的神奇相机，他用这个相机买彩票赚钱并娶了叫Simi Chatterjee（碧帕莎·芭素 饰）的歌手做妻子。很快他就发现他得防范想要得到这架相机的骗子，其中包括一名刺客和一个官员，然而即便他能逃得过阴险的坏人，却始终要面对另一个敌人——死神……。电影讲述了一次南美旅程如何激发了切格瓦拉全新的世界观，使得革命热情开始在他心中萌芽生长。格瓦拉当年23岁，意气风发，踌躇满怀，是一个医学院的学生。他对外面的世界抱有强烈的好奇心，于是和朋友艾伯特踏上了拉丁美洲的长长一串旅途中。他们骑上摩托车，风驰电掣的出发了，却不料摩托车很快就报了废。但这却一点没有影响年轻人的激情，二人靠搭便车来完成剩下的旅程。穿过拉丁美洲古老的文明遗址，穿梭于各个国家各色人群中间，他们开始真切感受到社会的真相、生活的苦难。当深入到亚马逊河流域的麻风病人区时，他们被所见所闻深深震撼。切格瓦拉开始思考宏大深奥的命题：人类、社会、经济、文明，人类的苦难、快乐的定义……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
