2007年的除夕夜，三兄妹正满心欢喜地在家里等着父母归来，没想到等来的却是父母双亡的噩耗。后碰上催债人要把他们的房子拿去抵债，三兄妹在和催债人的抗争过程中，弟弟为了保护姐姐意外受伤，被砸断了脚。。The series is set in the fictional town of Port Devine on the Northern Ireland coast and will focus on Port Devine's police department – and the mysterious arrival of English Detective Constable Alimah Kahn, the first Muslim police officer in the town's history.
